les vein cather for varicose vein treatment with lasersLASER Technology for the Treatment of Vein Disorders

The Advanced Vein Center recently implemented the Thermalite 1470 Laser.  The new system provides up to 12 watts of laser energy at a wavelength of 1470 nanometers and is indicated for a variety of general and vascular surgical procedures. The ThermaLite 1470 offers both pulsed and continuous wave emission modes, and it also features a touch screen display.

Because of it's higher wavelength then previous vein lasers, the Thermalite 1470 can effectively close a vein with only 1/3 of the energy required by earlier endovenous lasers. This results in virtually no bruising. Post procedure discomfort is very minimal and the vast majority of patients can resume normal activities the next day. The procedure is done in the office with local anesthetic and patients can drive themselves to and from the procedure if they wish.

The Advanced Vein Center first used the Dornier diode laser is D can be applied in many surgical fields: in ear, nose and throat surgery, endoscopy, urology, pediatric surgery, phlebectomy, tattoo removal and orthopedics. Ansgar Brossardt and Arno Körner's team of designers at ID Design in Munich designed the device for the manufacturer Dornier.

The laser enables one to perform precise tissue surgery or percutaneous (i.e. through the skin) treatment of slipped discs and varicose veins. It can be held in a handy diagonal position. The handle can be pulled out like a telescope - similar to a shopping trolley - so that the device can be transported over longer distances inside the clinic. Dornier's straightforward control surface with integrated LCD screen contains multifunction buttons which are easy to use. The device was recently awarded for its exemplary design by the Stuttgart Design Centre.

lasers used for varicose vein treatmentsThe Dornier Medilas D FlexiPulse is a 120 watt (peak pressure) diode continuous wave laser with a 940 nm wavelength. This state-of-the-art, high performance laser uses Power Bar technology and 940 nm wavelength making this versatile system ideal for endovenous laser treatment for varicose veins, superficial veins, ENT applications and a variety of surgical applications. The Medilas D FlexiPulse also includes unique safety features including the LPS, Light guide Protection System and cutting mode.
